Driver’s Spotlight – Penny Hubbard

In this edition of the SCCA Sacramento Chapter Drivers’ Spotlight, our featured driver is Penny Hubbard. Not only is Penny one of the lovely ladies you will see when you are at registration, she serves on the board in the role of Treasurer.

When Penny races, she typically races in the Red 1989 Corvette. She has only raced Corvettes in her 22-year racing career. She was introduced to Auto-X, from an early age as she grew up with it being in her life. (Her mother and father also are enthusiasts.)

She does not have any rituals or good luck charms that she has or use, but she gets herself pumped up on race days by listening to Rock music.

Besides racing, she does have other hobbies that includes being a couch potato with gardening tendencies.

Penny is an avid fan of the Corvettes, as her dream car to have if money were no object would be a newer Corvette.

She would like to have dinner with a beloved family member if she could, which would be her grandmother.

Something that one would be surprised to learn about Penny is that she is not that into racing but at the same time, she believes that everyone should at least try it once. Some great advice she would give to a newcomer to this sport is to just have fun.

She loves Disney and Disneyland is her favorite travel destination, but her dream destination is anywhere she can sit on a warm beach. Maybe with her favorite Disney character?
